Plainfield High School Weekly Update
There will be no school on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day, and Tuesday, September 8, for a Teacher In-Service Day. Enjoy the long weekend, Quakers, and we’ll see you back at school on Wednesday, September 9th.
The Red Pride Cup is a yearlong competition between the four PHS classes designed to celebrate what makes our school great: showing up, working hard, making good choices, getting involved, and supporting one another.
Throughout the year, freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors will earn points for their class through attendance, academic success, positive behavior, participation in PHS events, and recognition of others. There will be plenty of opportunities to earn points, and standings will be shared throughout the year.
At the end of each semester, one class will be crowned Red Pride Cup Champions and earn the opportunity for an individual final exam exemption for eligible students.
Every student can make a difference. Every Day Counts. Every Point Counts. Who will take home the Red Pride Cup?

Get ready to show off your class pride at this year’s Homecoming! Homecoming shirts are just $10 and are available in class-specific colors:
🔴 9th Grade: Red
⚪ 10th Grade: White
🔵 11th Grade: Navy
🎨 12th Grade: Your choice of Red, White, or Navy!
Pre-sale for shirts will be from September 4th until the end of the school day on September 11th. Orders can be made online or at Quaker Corner. Shirts will be available for pickup on September 23rd.
**Important: Shirts must be pre-ordered by 3:00 p.m. on September 11 to ensure they arrive in time for the Homecoming game.

Boys Volleyball is growing at Plainfield High School! Students interested in being part of the program this season are invited to attend a call-out meeting on Thursday, September 10, after school in the LGI Room.
As the boys volleyball program continues to grow, this is a great opportunity for students to get involved, learn more about the team, and be part of building something exciting at PHS. Whether you have volleyball experience or are interested in learning more about the sport, we encourage you to attend!
Interested students should make plans to attend the meeting to learn more about the upcoming season, expectations, and opportunities to be involved.

The annual PHS Powder Puff Flag Football Game is coming up on Thursday, September 24, and we want YOU to be part of it! Whether you’ve played football before or have never touched a football in your life, this is a chance to represent your class, compete with your friends, and be part of one of the most fun PHS traditions of the year.🏆

Fill out the 🔗Powder Puff Google Form.
Pay the $15 participation fee to the Treasurer by Friday, September 11.
Give Mr. Ferguson your receipt in F202 OR email him a picture of your receipt at aferguson@plainfield.k12.in.us.
Turn in your signed Parent/Guardian Consent Form (only if you are playing) to Mr. Ferguson.

6:30–6:50 p.m. — Freshmen vs. Sophomores
7:00–7:30 p.m. — Juniors vs. Seniors
There will be a mandatory rules meeting at 6:00 p.m. on game night. You’ll also have some time to practice and get warmed up before the games begin.

Spectators will be charged $5 at the gate.
All proceeds from Powder Puff will support the Ashley Moore Foundation https://playforash.org/ and the PHS We the People program.
So grab your friends, represent your class, and get ready for a night of competition, school spirit, and fun!

Forensics in Action: Students tackle crime scene project
Forensics in Action: Students tackle crime scene project
Mr. Burkhardt’s Forensic Science students are putting their investigative skills to the test as they tackle their forensics project: processing their very own crime scenes from start to finish!
Students are learning to strategically determine which search patterns to use, carefully photograph the scene and evidence, create detailed sketches drawn to an appropriate scale, and properly secure, document, and collect evidence.
As students work through the process, they’re quickly discovering that forensic science isn’t all excitement and detective work. There’s also a LOT of paperwork! Accurate documentation and careful evidence handling are essential parts of the job—and students are getting firsthand experience with just how much attention to detail forensic investigations require.
It’s a hands-on project that brings the skills and concepts from the classroom to life while giving students a glimpse into the meticulous work of real forensic investigators.

PHS PTO: Spirit Day Donations
The PTO is also thrilled to continue its popular Spirit Days throughout the school year. Once a month, students will have the opportunity to enjoy treats during lunch and enter a drawing to win a gift card giveaway sponsored by the PTO. Spirit Days will also encourage students to show their Quaker pride while recognizing and celebrating our outstanding teachers and staff.
These events are made possible through the incredible generosity of our PHS families and community. The PTO is currently seeking donations of individually wrapped candy and gift cards to help make Spirit Days a success. If you would like to contribute, please sign up using this donation link and drop off your donated items at the PHS Front Office by Monday, August 31.

Support the Quakers and save at the gate by purchasing an All Sports Pass for the 2026–2027 school year! Passes provide admission to regular-season home athletic events and can be purchased using the online purchase link or by contacting Tammy Ford via email. (tammyford@plainfield.k12.in.us)
Please note that All Sports Passes do not include admission to tournaments, sectionals, regionals, or other IHSAA tournament events. Previous passes will also not be accepted at games.
