For students who missed the original picture days, or who would like to have their pictures retaken, the Picture Make-Up Day is Wednesday, September 23.
*** IF YOU ARE HAVING YOUR PICTURE RE-TAKEN, YOU MUST BRING YOUR ORIGINAL PICTURE PACKET WITH YOU *** (Packets were passed out the week of 9/14)
Students will be called to the Auditorium Lobby throughout the day from 8:10 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m.
Be sure to follow the guidelines for picture retakes:
Senior males - solid color shirt, tie, jacket optional
Senior females - solid color or small print blouse or sweater
Underclassmen - no words on shirt front
ALL STUDENTS - no hats, earbuds, sunglasses, combs, or other head coverings
Dress shirts and ties are available for males. Females can visit the Hopeful Threads closet for attire if needed.

Save the date: Fall homecoming dance
Get ready for a night of glitz, glamour, and roaring twenties style at the PHS Fall Homecoming Dance! This year’s theme is “The Great Gatsby: A Night of Glitz & Glamour,” so grab your best dress or suit and get ready to dance the night away.
Tickets go on sale September 23rd for $10 during lunch. Before purchasing a ticket, students must have a Code of Conduct on file. Please note that the Homecoming Dance is for PHS students only—no outside guests will be permitted.
Whether you’re coming to dance with your friends, take pictures, or simply enjoy a night of celebration, we’re ready to make this Homecoming one to remember.

We the People
It’s that time of year again! Our students are hard at work preparing for this year’s We the People competition, and I would love to invite you to join us as a judge for one or more of our upcoming dress rehearsals.
This year’s class is full of young constitutional scholars, and I am incredibly excited about the depth and potential of this group. We will have two competitive teams along with a showcase team, meaning we are taking three teams to the Regional Competition this year, with the hope of advancing two teams to the State Competition!

Both rehearsals will run from 5:30–7:30 p.m. From 5:30–6:00 p.m., we will have a judges meeting where you can ask questions, receive your judging materials, meet the other judges on your panel, and, most importantly, eat! We will provide pizza, fruits and veggies, desserts, and drinks. Student hearings will begin at approximately 6:00 p.m.
No previous judging experience is necessary! Your role is simply to listen, ask questions, challenge the students to explain and defend their thinking, and provide feedback. We will give you everything you need that evening.
Below are the questions the students are preparing, along with the State Competition questions so you can see the topics they will be tackling this year. They are beginning with the first two questions selected for Regionals and will soon begin looking at their third question as well.

The October 8 rehearsal will be especially valuable because we will not select our two competitive teams until before the second dress rehearsal. Your feedback will help us identify students’ strengths and areas for improvement as we make those decisions and continue preparing them for competition.

Dental Safari Is Coming to PHS
Dental Safari Is Coming to PHS
Taking care of your smile just got a little easier! Dental Safari will be visiting Plainfield High School to provide convenient dental care right here at school.
Students will have the opportunity to receive dental services during the school day on October 8th. Dental Safari specializes in on-location quality examinations, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and placement of sealants (as needed).

Students who ordered Homecoming Shirts will be able to pick them up at the Quaker Corner on September 23rd.
Please note: Homecoming shirts were available by pre-sale only. Shirts will not be available for purchase by students who did not place a pre-order.
Students have the opportunity to experience live theater through field trips as shows come to Indianapolis! These trips are open to students and chaperones and provide a chance to enjoy professional performances while experiencing the arts outside of the classroom.

There will be a mandatory rules meeting at 6:00 p.m. on game night. You’ll also have some time to practice and get warmed up before the games begin.

The PHS Marching Band proudly premiered 𝑬𝒙 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒂 at the Brownsburg Invitational, earning 1st place in Music, Visual, and General Effect! This outstanding achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and creativity our students have put into preparing this year's production.

A group of PHS students is working on an invention designed to help drivers get their cars unstuck from snow, mud, and other challenging conditions. They’re looking for input from fellow students to help them better understand real-world experiences and what features would be most useful.
Take a few minutes to complete their survey and share your thoughts! Your feedback could help shape the design of an invention that makes getting stuck a little less frustrating.

🔺Seniors & Families: PHS is hosting a Financial Aid & FAFSA Workshop on Monday, September 21st at 6:00 p.m. in the LGI. Experts from InvestEd will share important financial aid information, followed by help creating your FSA login in preparation for the FAFSA opening October 1st. Juniors are also welcome!
Students and parents/contributors should bring their Social Security Number, personal email address, and cell phone for verification. It is also helpful to bring your own laptop.
🔺Youth Core Life Skills is a free program for ages 13-18, focused on practical skills. It's four sessions in October, and participants are able to sign up for all sessions or each individual session. The topics are Job Readiness, Nutrition, Financial Literacy, and Vehicle/Home Maintenance. More information is available on our website Youth Core Life Skills | Plainfield, IN.
