Indiana Academic All-Star Most Influential Employee
As a senior, Isra Badar earned an Indiana Academic All-Star Award. She chose me as the teacher who had the most Influence on her education. Here Is what the award says:
"In the weeks leading up to third grade, I learned I needed braces, moved houses, and watched my best friends fly across the country. Feeling incredibly alone, I was not excited to be thrust into a new school year. However, when I walked into Mrs. Judd's classroom, I was pleasantly surprised by vibrant colors, homey bookshelves, and a welcoming smile on my new teacher's shining face. Almost immediately, I felt at ease, and Mrs. Judd's outgoing and warm atmosphere quickly brought me out of my shell, allowing me to make two of my best friends. Most importantly, however, she grew my pre-exisiting love for reading into something magical. Each day, she read aloud to the class after recess, choosing the perfect books to teach her students to be confident, creative, and curious. While she often only read the first book in a series to us, I would eagerly finish the rest of the series on my own. I will forever remember being able to discuss my favorite characters and plot theories with such an attentive teacher. Mrs. Judd's support during this time ultimately fostered my imagination, curiousity, and love for learning, making her invaluable to my academic career."
