Academy Evaluation Process
Qualities of an Exceptionally Gifted Student
Someone who demonstrates outstanding ability, expertise, motivation, and passion for learning (level 4 per DESE) and needs advanced opportunities to respond to the student’s unique individual needs.
The successful candidate for the Academy, in the past, has typically presented the ability to perform in the top one percent of students in both their academic and cognitive functioning. The "typical" Academy student has an IQ 138+ (administrated by a Parkway District Examiner) with either the Full Scale-- FS, General Ability Index-- GAI, or Nonverbal-- NV). However, as with all students, each child presents with a unique set of identified strengths and challenges. Please note: outside private testing will not be accepted when applying for the MOSAICS Academy. Parkway School District Private Testing Guidelines

Students who meet the profile of an exceptionally gifted student, as defined by DESE, are invited to apply. Please note: in order to submit an application for the Academy, level 4 programming, students must first have met the criteria for participation in MOSAICS, level 3 programming, in their home school and take part in the program.
