All returning Nursery children will return week beg Monday 22 February. Children who were due to start at our Nursery in January will be contacted individually regarding their start date, week beginning Monday 1 March.
As the Expansion of Early Learning and Childcare was paused by the Scottish government due to COVID-19, we will only be offering sessions between 9am-3pm as in Term 1 and 2. This will continue to be reviewed.
Your child should continue to attend on the pattern they were on prior to Christmas. Please see table below.
In addition to the Health and Safety measures (click here), an additional mitigation within Nursery on return, will be a reduction in bubble group sizes. This will not impact on who your child has as a Key Worker.
Please note, there will be new drop off and pick up staggered times. Due to the large volume of children and adults accessing our Nursery, we have made the decision to increase the time between each drop off and pick up. This is to minimise transmission between bubble groups.
We would ask that only one adult accompanies each child to Nursery, and that the times above are strictly adhered to. Children arriving at their allocated time, will be taken first.
All adults should be wearing face covering at drop off and pick up. This will include staff who are meeting and greeting adults outside.
The First Minister has made the following statements regarding the risks associated with the return to nursery and expectations for parents / carers, "The risk is that schools going back might lead to parents socialising more, at the school gates for example, or returning to the workplace rather than working from home. And so - although I do know how difficult this is - I am asking parents and employers to make sure this doesn’t happen.
In order to minimise the number of contacts and risk of transmission, attendance at multiple ELC settings should be reduced as far as possible. Parents and carers should be encouraged and supported to limit the number of settings their child attends, ideally ensuring their child only attends the same setting consistently.
Some Partner Providers have indicated that they will not support blended placements at this time to reduce transmission. Please check with your individual provider.
