In fourth grade reading, we focus on using the new Wisconsin ELA standards and the Lucy Calkins Units of Study. Throughout the year, students practice their fiction and nonfiction reading by using the workshop model. In the workshop model, students are given choice on the texts they use to show mastery of skills.
