Algebra

Welcome to the Algebra section of my webpage.

Algebra 1 is considered a high school course so the expectations are a little bit more than the typical requirements you're used to:

  • Since this is a high school course, the grade breakdown is 60% Test/Project, 40% Assignment.
  • 60% of the grades are tests which will always be announced in advance as well as projects
  • An example of an assignment is considered a quiz, classwork assignment, or homework.

  • The textbook we use is Larson Algebra
  • You each will sign out a graphing calculator. It is your responsibility to bring it back to class if you are bringing it home. These calculators are very expensive so please treat them with care

Materials you will need for this class:

  • Pencils
  • Spiral Notebook
  • Binder with 5 tabs ( Warm-up, Homework, Classwork, Tests, spiral review )
  • Folder

If you ever feel as you are struggling please come see myself for help! I am always available before or after school for extra help. Please just give me a notice if you do decide you would like to stay so I can mark you down on my calendar. I will never turn you down for extra help!

Homework:

You will receive homework on most nights. I do not give homework on Fridays unless you are mis behaving during class. Most times I will give you 5 minutes at the end of Class to start the homework, and ask me questions.

Homework is considered an assignment grade so it is worth 40% of your grade.

if you are struggling with the homework, send me an email rather than not completing the assignment. If you do not show work, you will not receive the credit. I will try my best to update the homework Calendar so you know what to complete.
