Melonie Bunting is currently a 16 year-old Junior here at D.H Conley High School and is a new staffer. She was born and raised in Greenville, North Carolina. This year, Melonie has dedicated herself to step out of her shell and join the Yearbook family.
“I always thought it would be a cool thing to be part of. I look forward to meeting new people, be more out there. I think it’s nice to have the privilege to take pictures for school events.”
Melonie is an only child and has two dogs named Stella and Aventa. One word to describe her is hilarious.
“If I make a joke and nobody laughs, but I'm the one laughing, other people laugh because my laugh is funny.”
Besides her joyful persona, she is a dedicated student and takes her grades seriously. Melonie is not just full of bliss, she is a person who is trustworthy and loves to help people however she can.
“I am the type of person you would go to when you need help. Helping people out makes me feel very proud of myself that people know they can count on me.”
Her favorite memory is when she hosted a carnival themed birthday party when she was a little girl. To her, this moment makes her feel happy and always puts a smile on her face.
“I had a carnival theme and people were at different stations that included various games. We had a dump tank, that was pretty fun. We had a huge bounce house. That’s probably the best party I've ever had.”
A few ways Melonie likes to relax is watching TV or Tiktok in her bedroom. In her free time she also enjoys hanging out with her friends. Music helps her during difficult times. One of her favorite artists is Radiohead.
“I like listening to music that I can relate to and just hearing music makes me feel great.”
Melonie has learned Spanish and French over the years and after high school she plans to go to college and become a therapist for children. A piece of advice Melonie wishes everyone knew is to live in the moment and reach your full potential.
“Don’t worry about what others think. Most people spend all their life caring about what people think about them instead of living in the moment. It'll be hard at first, but I think people should try to live their life more than worrying about what people think.”
