Being a good online citizen is more than being a safe Internet user—it’s about being responsible, smart, and having respect for yourself and others. As a user of the Web, various apps, social networking sites, and other online collaboration forums, you are a “citizen” of different communities. And just like real-life communities, there are rules to follow that will make sure you have the best possible experience.
When you have completed this quest you will:
For this quest, you are going to follow digital citizenship rules to appropriately comment on the library blog. Blogs are online sites where you can share information with others. I use the library blog to share library news, book reviews and recommendations, cool technology sites, helpful hints, and review skills taught in class. You can comment on blog posts to give feedback, offer suggestions, or ask questions.
1. Click on the link: http://beverlylibrary.edublogs.org/ to open the library blog in a new tab.
2. Click on the title of the post "New Books".
3. Read the post.
4. At the bottom of the post type your comment in the Comment box. Remember to use the following rules of good digital citizenship when posting:
5. Retype the anti spam word in the box to prove you are not a robot.
6. Type your gamertag in the Name box.
7. You DO NOT need to enter your email address.
8. Press submit. This will alert me that a comment has been made and if it is appropriate (you followed all the rules) I will accept it and it will post.
9. Browse through the posts and make more comments if you like.
