Some presidents have had monuments built to honor them such as the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
Imagine you are an artist who has been asked to design a new monument for a president. Which president would you choose to honor with a monument? Why? What kind of image and design would you create for your monument?
You are going to use the webtool Sketchpad to create an digital drawing of your monument.
In this challenge you will:
1. Pick a president and research them using Kids Info Bits. You will need to log in with the district username and password if you are completing this challenge at home. Email me at melissa.quirl@pisd.edu if you need the log in information.
2. Use the Chrome Notepad extension or a piece of paper to record some interesting facts about your president.
3. Design a monument for your president using the information that you learned about them and sketch it out using Sketchpad. Label your drawing using text boxes to point out its special features.
4. When you are done, complete the form below with the link to your Sketchpad drawing to earn your badge and points.
