UPDATES for the Week of 2/28/2022

• Wednesday, 3/02 - Book Character Dress Up Day (more information linked above)

• Thursday, 3/03 - Open House from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. (in person) See all the details in this week's Mathews e-News

• Friday, 3/04 - 3rd Nine Weeks Assembly from 9-10:00 (students only). If you don't wish your child to attend, please complete this form: Opt Out of 3rd Nine Weeks Assembly

• Friday, 3/04 - Students will participate in our Technology Free Friday. This includes using wood nib pens as we learn what colonial schools would have been like - including penmanship. We will provide the ink and penmanship lessons. Please have your child bring a wood nib pen to school by Friday. These can be made out of twigs found outside on the ground and sharpened with an adult's supervision. (see diagram on this page)

• Friday, 3/04 - Last Day of the 3rd Nine Weeks; report cards will be issued on 3/18 (after spring break).

UPDATES for 3/07 - 3/18/2022

• Spring Break 3/07 - 3/11/2022. Classes resume on Mon. 3/14/2022.

• We will begin a novel study on 3/14/2022. We will distribute a copy of the novel for every student. The title is Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. Should your child wish to have a copy of their own that he/she can write in, please provide that for your child. The copies we distribute will be returned to us at the end of the novel study. (This novel study will be their 20 minutes of reading a night assignment starting 3/14/2022.)

• Camp on Campus: 3/16, 17, 18. Students will need the following supplies: paper towel roll (empty), small action figure (will be returned), and flashlight (please put your child's name on it)
