Students will receive grades quarterly on their ability to "participate fully and demonstrate understanding of Physical Education content."
This objective encompasses each student to practice the standards shown on the curriculum page with the intent to become the best learner they can be (as shown on the Foundation of Learning page).
A student with a growth mindset believes that learning is a continuous process, skills and fitness can always be improved, and goals are only stepping stones. I use grading as a instrument to help students understand that learning is a process, not a final result.
Here is what you can expect on your child's grade card:
-If a student is participating fully with the intent to learn the standards, then an "=" will be earned during quarter 1, 2, and 3.
-After fully participating in all 4 quarters with the intent to learn the standards, then the student has practiced all skills in a variety of situations and environments, and a "+" will be earned.
An "=" in the first 3 quarters means that you child is performing excellent and continuing to be driven to succeed, not driven by success.
