Zoom: to speak with your instructor virtually (face-to-face over the internet) via Zoom, use this link to set up an appointment . Your instructor will send you a Zoom link you can use to start the meeting at the appointed time. If Zoom is not yet installed on your device, click on the link for instructions.
Office hours: by appointment via Zoom during the Coronavirus emergency. Use this link to make an appointment.
All submitted work will typically be commented on and scored within one week. Some assignemnts take longer than others to score and comment, please keep this in mind.
Any comments I provide will appear in your gradebook or as annotations on the subbmited assignment [how to access comments in the gradebook]. Please make it a habit to check your gradebook and the annotations .
You do not need to respond to my feedback on your work , but you can if you'd like. I will not re-grade any assignment after I have scored and left comments on it, unless I have made a mistake. My feedback is intended to guide your future work, to help you improve your learning, but to also provide clear communication about where you may have lost points.
Late work: I only accept late work in the event of extreme emergencies. You need to protect yourself by managing your time. It is in your best interest to submit your work well before the deadlines. I do not recommend waiting until the last minute. Keep in mind that when your final grade is calculated, your lowest midterm exam score to be dropped, your lowest experiment, and your two lowest Canvas quizzes.

Student Discussion Lounge: This discussion forum is a space for students to share information related to the course (or not - it is up to you). The instructor will not participate in this forum. This is a space exclusively for students.
Please do make connections with your classmates and chat off of Canvas (via text or Conferencing platforms like Google Hangouts or Zoom). Learning is best done in a collaborative environment, even if that can't be in person because of the pandemic.
