4 Steps to Access Film Equipment and Facilities
Step 1: Complete the Film Student Information Form
Step 2: Create a Booked account if you do not have one
Step 3: Create reservations for equipment and facilities
Step 4: Follow up with your instructor for approval
Checkout Policy
Student checkout is a privilege, and not a right, and therefore may be limited or revoked if rules are not followed.
Equipment and facilities are for currently-enrolled Film Production students only.
Equipment checkout and facilities are for class-related assignments only.
Only currently-enrolled SBCC Film Production students may handle any equipment - on or off campus!
Equipment pick up begins Monday, 2/10/2025 and ends Friday, 5/9/2025.
All equipment checkout requires approval.
Contact your instructor if you have any questions about checking out specific gear.
All equipment needs to be returned by Friday, 4pm, 5/16/2025.
Penalties
All damage and replacement costs are the responsibility of the student who made the reservation.
If your Booked account goes on-hold, all subsequent reservations will be deleted and privileges suspended until issues are resolved.
If equipment is used for non-class assignments, the student loses all checkout privileges for the rest of the semester.
Abandoning equipment anywhere (classroom, hallway, etc.) will result in loss of checkout privileges for the rest of the semester.
Equipment returned late will incur a late fee of $30/day.
Equipment returned late enough to adversely affect another student's checkout will result in loss of checkout privileges for the rest of the semester.
A cleaning fee of $30 per item, maximum $100 per checkout if equipment is returned with sand, mud, etc.
If you fail to follow directions from our Security officers or Chien-ei, you will lose all checkout privileges for the rest of the semester.
Loss-of-checkout privilege penalties incurred in the last 2 weeks of a semester will roll over to the end of the following semester, for a maximum total of 17 weeks of no checkout privileges.
Large/heavy equipment checkouts will not be released to one lone student. Two or more student crew required.
Checkout privileges will be suspended if one student is stuck returning a large/heavy equipment checkout.
Studio/Rooms Use
Without an instructor
Main Studio (H237) requires FP170 past/present enrollment to use any equipment
Audio Rooms (H238/H232) require FP181 past/present enrollment to use any equipment
Finishing Room (H231) requires FP275 or FP294 present enrollment and it's for final mix and grade only
Capstone Prep Room (H241) requires FP294 present enrollment
Capstone equipment is for Capstone class use only
Closed-toe shoes only in the main studio (H237) - no flip flops or sandals
