Oh yes. Reading is critical to ensure success in the course. However, I promise you that this particular textbook is extremely well-written and relatively easy to follow. It's still challenging -- after all, it is about macroeconomics -- that said, the author does an excellent job of explaining things. Students always comment on how good it is. Don't believe me? Where can I buy or rent the textbook?
Where can I buy or rent the textbook?
Yes, you need the most recent edition (i.e., 10th edition) with MindTap access.
You can purchase the book at a discount directly from the publisher through Canvas or at full price from the SBCC bookstore. Purchasing the textbook via other means (e.g., Amazon) is does not come with the necessary access to our course. That said, the publisher's discount usually provides the cheapest option anyway.
This is NOT optional. You will need access to MindTap to work on graded homework assignments that will help you get a good grasp of the material. MindTap automatically comes with an e-book version of the textbook.
The publisher provides a grace period (also known as a 'trial period') during which students can access the e-book and MindTap without proof of payment. Proof of payment is required by the end of the grace period.
Know that the campus bookstore does not provide a refund for bundles not in their original shrinkwrap -- make sure you’re keeping it if you want to remove the shrinkwrap. You will need the code that comes on the bundled card if you plan on using the book for our class.
