Teaching and Learning Summit
We are thrilled to extend an invitation to the GaDOE Teaching and Learning Summit, taking place on August 28th. This event, co-hosted by Pioneer RESA and NEGA RESA and facilitated by GaDOE staff, promises to be an invaluable opportunity for school and district leaders to gain insights, updates, and resources essential for navigating the evolving educational landscape. Throughout the day, attendees will engage with GaDOE staff through three keynote addresses and a series of breakout sessions covering essential topics.

ELA Standards Teacher Tour

We are excited to announce that registration for the ELA Standards Tour for teacher leaders and literacy/instructional coaches is now open. At the request of the GaDOE, and to ensure equitable access, the number of available spaces for each district has been determined based on FTE counts. We kindly ask that you only register at the request of your district at this point. Registration by FTE will be open until August 15th. After this date, on August 16th, we will open any remaining seats to all districts on a first come, first serve basis. Please see the flyer for more information.

FY25 Endorsement Offerings
We are excited to offer endorsement opportunities in ESOL and Gifted education. Our endorsement cohorts will begin in the fall, winter, and spring to accommodate the needs of all educators. Course 1 registration for the fall cohort in both ESOL and Gifted endorsements is now open. Please see below for start dates and registration information.
GaTAPP and GaLAPP Programs
For educators interested in alternative certification pathways, our GaTAPP (Georgia Teacher Academy for Preparation and Pedagogy) and GaLAPP (Georgia Leader Academy for Preparation and Pedagogy) programs offer a structured and supportive route into teaching and Tier I educational leadership roles. The application window for these programs has been extended until June 21st. While we will continue to accept candidates as they are hired throughout the summer, we encourage those who are currently staffed to apply as soon as possible. Please note that we have a hard deadline of July 15th to meet GaPSC requirements.

Let’s Talk ELA, GA!
Virtual professional learning series to prepare for the implementation of Georgia’s K-12 English Language Arts Standards. The next one is scheduled for June 6th from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.

Virtual professional learning series to support the implementation of Georgia’s K-12 Mathematics Standards. The next one is scheduled for June 28th from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM.
Federal Programs Conference: Teachers and Leaders Improving Outcomes
Dates: June 11th-13th (Virtual Option Only)
Teachers, school leaders, and district personnel will engage in interactive sessions that provide resources, strategies, and best practices to improve outcomes for Georgia’s students. In addition, participants will receive information to assist with plans for coordinating federal funds in FY25, supporting federally-identified schools, and leading strong instructional practices in the 2024-25 school year. Local Educational Agency (LEA) participants should include representatives working with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) grants, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) grants, and selected school and district-level instructional personnel.

Inspire & Align, Georgia's Coaching Excellence Summit

This free, 2-day bootcamp for will provide a foundational coaching knowledge strategies for advancing school goals through systemic coaching and a unique collaborative session for school administrators and coaches.
AP Summer Institutes (APSI)
Gifted Education and Advanced Academics team and the office of Rural Education & Innovation will provide three, free AP Summer Institutes (APSI) for teachers this summer. All summer institutes will be virtual and free. Registration is open to all districts. This is a wonderful professional development opportunity for your high school teachers, providing them the time to explore an Advanced Placement course. These trainings give teachers a thorough understanding of the course as well as pacing guides, sample lessons, and digital resources.
