Updates for 8/26/25
- The BOG will be tomorrow, Wednesday August 27th.We will start promptly at 8:15. We urge everyone to try to be on time. Today we did the testing tutorial together. Please see the attached parent tips to help you and your child prepare.
- Yesterday we began our first science unit Investigating Forces. To accompany this unit we have assigned our first project. We will be using what we are learning to design a racecar. Your child should have all of the information you need in their SOAR Binder.
- We began our homework routine this week. Your student should have their planner filled out which is located in their SOAR Binder. We will take our first spelling and vocabulary quiz Friday along with the 0's and 1's multiplication facts quiz. Students do have time during dismissal to work on their homework and ask any questions they may have. I highly encourage them to use this time. Please make sure you are checking over this nightly with your child. Third Grade is very fast paced and can be intense compared to 2nd Grade. I promise it is not because we are mean or want to make things hard, but we are a college preparatory school and this is a testing grade, so things will look vastly different.
- Reminder: September 18th at 6:00 is Parent Curriculum Night for 3rd grade! It will be held in the K-3 gym. Please make plans to attend this event. Also note that this is not an appropriate meeting for students or siblings to attend. We ask that it be parents/grown ups only. We will be going over testing and expectations for 3rd grade. If you have not RSVP'd please do so this week. I put a RSVP form in the yellow folders you took home at Open House, but if you do not have one or misplaced it you can just send me an email saying yes, you are coming or no, you are not coming along with any questions you have.
- Please make sure to return the student handbook signature page. I am still missing a few. The handbooks were sent home in the yellow folder during Open House.
