Homework is listed here and in their planners which are stamped by me. Please make sure your student is completing homework.
Many of these assignments will be entered for a grade. Ten points are deducted for every day it is late, and after 3 days it is not accepted. Please see the grading policy under Classes/Assignments and Schedule for more information.
Students may have some time to work on homework in class. If it is not done, these assignments will be due the next day.
Students will be receiving a social studies map project today. They will have time this week to work on it in class, however, the final project will need to be completed on poster board at home. This is due Friday, September 18th.

Students will create their own island. They will come up with a rough draft map in class this week.
The map must include:
The island's name
a compass
a map key
at least 5 geographical features (mountains, rivers, volcanoes, lakes, etc)
at least 3 custom landmarks (school, park, grocery store etc)
This project is due next Friday the 18th and must be completed on poster board. The images must all be student created and colored. Since the rough draft will be completed in class, the final draft should be completed at home.
Students must also write a paragraph that is 5-8 sentences long that will describe their island.
The grading criteria for this project is as follows:
Map basics-20 points
Map details- 30 points
Travel guide (paragraph)-30 points
Neatness and effort-20 points
10 points will be deducted for each day it is late, and points will be deducted if it is not in the student's handwriting. This is going in as a project grade which is the same as a test, 50% of total grade.
