All homework should be completed with pencil (unless otherwise directed).  It should be completed neat and correctly or it will be returned to be redone. 

Math Homework

On Mondays (or first school day of the week) students will receive a Math Homework packet. One page should be completed each night. Math Homework packets will be checked for completion each Friday. 

Spelling Homework 

At the beginning of each week, your child will receive 10 spelling words. On Mondays (or first school day of the week) students will receive a Spelling Homework packet with an activity that should be completed each night. Spelling Homework packets will be checked for completion each Friday. 

Reading Homework

Students will bring home 3 leveled books to read in their R.E.D. book pouch in their homework folder. Students should read for 15 minutes each day.  They should read their books to an adult multiple times (this helps with fluency).  Please keep the books in the book pouch when not being read. They may need your help with sounds and sight words that have not yet been taught/learned.  Please do not allow them to struggle and get frustrated. Help them when needed.  After reading, choose a few questions from the ‘Sample Reading Questions’ page in the homework folder to ask your child about the book (this helps with comprehension).  Please sign the reading log and return the books each day.  Each Monday, your child will receive 3 new books for the week.  Please sign the log each night even if they are reading the same book.  The more your child reads the more they will grow.
