Reading: This week in reading students will review sounds and words previously learned. Students will review the /ar/ sound like in far, bar, and car. Students will continue reading stories from their Reader as well as answering questions about the stories. We will have a Fluency Quiz on Friday, August 28th.
Spelling: Students will receive a Spelling List with the following words: am, at, sat, hat, me, see, if, it, sit, fit. The spelling test will be on Friday, August 28th.
Writing: This week in Writing we will continue our “Secret Student of the Day” writing. Each day we will write about a different “secret” student.
Listening and Learning: Students will continue to listen to fables and stories that have delighted generations of people. By listening to these classics, students will increase their vocabulary and reading comprehension skills, learn valuable lessons about ethics and behavior, become familiar with the key elements and parts of a story, and acquire cultural literary.
Math: This week students will practice using a number line to add numbers to 10. Lesson 2 Quiz will be on Friday, August 28th.
