Upcoming Dates & Announcements

Reading: Students will continue to learn how to discriminate between vowel letter names, short vowel sounds, and long vowel sounds. They will also learn to read compound words. Our next reading assessment will be on Thursday, October 29th.

Spelling: Students will not receive a Spelling List. There will NOT be a spelling test this week. Students will have a Sentence Dictation on Wednesday.

Writing: We will continue Writing Unit 1: Building the Foundations. Students will practice writing questions sentences about a picture. They will learn how to make sentences stronger by adding where and when. The Unit 1 Writing Assessment will be on October 28th.

Listening and Learning: Students will continue to learn about the Sun, Moon, and Stars. They will learn why the moon seems to move, why the stars in the sky change, and learn about astronomers. The Assessment will be on Tuesday, October 20th.

Math: Students will practice using the number partners for the numbers 8 and 9. No math test this week.

Sight Words: Please practice these words each night. The Soccer Ball Words Assessment will be on October 30th.

A few uniform reminders during this cooler weather...

Outerwear Permitted Inside the Building

Coats, jackets, ¼-zip pullovers and sweaters that are solid red, solid black, solid white OR a combination of these colors are permitted.

These items must be embroidered with PCA's logo / Spirit Wear logo.
Any items (solid colored or in a combination of school colors) that are not embroidered are not approved as daily school wear and must be removed. (ie: Buffalo Plaid, large non PCA logos, etc.).

Hooded Clothing (Outside Only)

Hooded clothing cannot be worn inside the building at any time.

Please label all jackets and sweaters with your child’s name.

***Your child should have a filled water bottle and a snack in the front pocket of their backpack each day. ***
