Updates for the week of August 31-September 4:
Last week, we worked on finishing The Odyssey, and we almost completed it. There was a quiz. We also had a Classwork grade on a poem. In addition to this, we took a poetry unit test in class.
This week, we are going to finish reading the epic. There will be a second quiz on Wednesday. Following this, we will complete a unit study guide so that you can have a more uniform way of studying. Each unit, I will have you complete a study guide. While this may not necessarily be a grade, it will be a great tool to have to study for each test, and it will benefit you greatly if you complete it. You will take your test on Thursday.
Following the completion of this test, we will begin reading The Three Theban Plays by Sophocles. These will include: "Oedipus, the King (Rex)", "Antigone", and "Oedipus at Colonus". There will be a quiz after each play, and there will be a test at the end of the unit, which will be in just a couple of weeks. (This is a very short unit.)
Updates for the week of August 31-September 4:
Last week, we finished talking about the history of education. There was a quiz and a test. In addition to this, you have an essay that is due to me Monday at 1:20 PM for full credit as a Classwork grade. We discussed this in class on Thursday, and the due date is listed at the top of the assignment. On Friday, we talked briefly about lesson planning and what that means for teachers, especially for new/future teachers. We will continue this conversation over the next couple of weeks.
Next week, we are going to continue talking about lesson planning. There will be at least a Classwork grade.
