There will be a meeting in the band room on Tuesday, May 14, for students and parents who are interested in the opportunity to learn an instrument and/or play in the band. I will be showing 5th graders instruments during their weekly music classes the week before the meeting, so they will have some idea of what they would like to do. We will also discuss the summer band camp at this time. There will be a representative from Music & Arts present to assist with instrument rentals and/or sales, books, and other supplies. Please go to the 6-12 music website for more details about the band. Visit the Band website.
Band Camp is available to all students who are or wish to be Pinnacle Classical Academy band members in 2024-2025. Beginning students learn their first 5 notes, sound production, music theory, etc. Returning students will receive instruction that is on a more advanced level. The Band Camp will be July 29-August 2 from 8:00 am-3:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The cost of Band Camp is $125. This fee covers the cost of bringing in specialists in each instrument to teach lessons to students. Please complete the attached form and return it to Mrs. Owens with the fee, postmarked no later than June 28.

Do not cut through the student parking area.
Do not use your cell phone while in the line.
11. Reminder with flu season upon us:
If a student is ill, he/she should not attend school. Please keep a student home in the morning if any of the symptoms listed below are present. If any of these symptoms develop during the school day, we will call you to pick up your student. Keep ill students home until the student has been symptom-free for 24 hours, and/or if they: have a fever of 100° or higher, vomiting or diarrhea, evidence of a severe head cold, persistent cough, or sore throat, or there is evidence of a suspicious rash or other contagious conditions (pink eye, head lice, ringworm etc.). Make sure you notify your student’s homeroom teacher and Mrs. Deaton of your student’s absence and send a note when the student returns to school.
12. Lately, our students have been bringing quite a few blankets and stuffed animals to school. As a reminder, students are not permitted to bring blankets or stuffed animals to school. If your child typically gets cold throughout the day, please send a school approved sweater or jacket (without a hood) for them to wear.
13. Dress Code Reminder: Please remember that students may not wear hoodies or hooded jackets inside the building at any time. Please make sure that all student clothing, including jackets, coats, shoes, and socks, conforms to the dress code. Please refer to the school website or see the attachment below for guidelines. If violations occur, teachers/staff will issue a written notice of uniform violation that must be signed by the parent and returned to the school.
Cell phones and all other personal electronic devices (including but not limited to smartwatches, MP3 players, personal computers/laptops, video games, tablets, etc.) are NOT allowed at school during the school day including during dismissal.
