Update for the week of March 9-13:
Last week, we finished unit 4 in AP Classroom as we talked about how to use evidence to support a thesis as we build on claims, evidence, and reasoning. Students wrote their first full FRQ (Free Response Question) in class on Friday as practice for the upcoming AP exam in May. We also continued reading The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. There was a quiz on the novel.
This week, we are going to continue reading the novel. There will be a second quiz. Once we finish the novel, we will have a test. We are also going to continue to explore unit 4 in AP Classroom as we dig down into making sure that we are being consistent with supporting our thesis throughout our FRQs on the AP English Language and Composition exam and our writing in general. We will also begin looking at unit 5.
