Description: We used Fusion360 to design a soap and gift it to someone to show love and appreciation. The soap has to be 2"-3" in diameter and 1"-1.5" tall and must have enough detail to demonstrate what we learned in pass lessons.
Brainstorm: I choose to do a design with Chococat because that is my best friend's favorite Sanrio character. I didn't have any text on my soap but the candies represent my tagline, "sweet things cover the pain," inspired by life. <3
My first hand sketch which I later imported into Fusion360 to be traced than extruded.
Procedure: these are the following steps I took to make the soap.
1. I made the sketch with fit point spline and extruded my sketch. After extruding, this is what my final model looked like in Fusion360.
2. I 3D printed my model and next I will make a mold around it that I can make a soap with.
3. I made a mold with silicon plastic and covered my 3D printed model and waited for the mold to set before removing the 3D model.
4. I melted goat milk soap and pouredit into the mold. I also added a drop of blue food coloring and swirled it to have a marbled look.
5. I let the soap hardened and popped the hardened soap out of the mold and now it could be gifted and used :D
Reflections:
Strength - I had a good design, Chococat is something my best friend loves but is also easy to design well and very cute.
Opportunities - I think I could have added text. That could have made the soap even more meaningful.
Understanding - Through this project, I learned the sketch tools better, how to extrude the body in different sections.
Limitations - I think I did great, honestly my biggest limitation was a couple of people kept asking me for help and i got sidetracked a couple times.
WISCR
- Self Motivated; I had to redo parts of my model many many times but I kept trying so I think I was self motivated.
- Well Rounded Individuals; I used Fusion360 to design this with a hand drawn sketch.
