Find the Cow (Caesar Cipher)

Description: For this project, we were assigned to use python to decrypt the Caesar Cipher given from Ms. Tran in order to find her cow with a partner.. The project requirements were to use our previous Caeser Cipher code to figure out the 5 clues, to get to go find the cow, and the first person gets a pack of candy.

Procedure:  I first learned to decrypt and encrypt a code with a one digit key using the Caesar Cipher during class. Then we learned how to decrypt using a 10 digit key. After that, we were given the assignment for the Caesar cipher project. We easily decrypted the first 4 clues using the code given in about 5 minutes. After every time we found the clue, we were asked to send an email to Mr. Tran containing the clue. 

1. Clue Number one was, "Ms. Tran found an open gate. She is panicking because her cow has gone missing!".

From this clue we derived that the cow is know where to be found and it is lost.

2. Clue Number two was,"Max said that when he was dropped off this morning, he saw the cow with some JH kids eating mint candy near the Cue Quad." 

In this clue we find out that the cow was next to the Cue Quad and likes Candy?

3. Clue Number three was,"Ms. Tran recalls seeing Ms. King and Ms. Sanchez eating the same mint candy".  

me an my Partner thought that maybe the cow was in Ms. Sanchez or Ms. King's office because they also liked the same mint candy.

4. And clue Number four is "Someone found a candy wrapper with “Call me” written next to a number: 650806…". 

We saw that the code is probably a phone number since it said "call me" on it.

The final clue was a encryption with 4 numbers missing for the number key. We used the other clues and used what letters we got when we put in the numbers we knew, and we cross checked the encryption with the code and the alphabet, to finally find the last 4 numbers. We found that the last four numbers were 9278. 

5. The final Clue was "The cow loves candies as much as you do. No one stole it. It walked to Ms. Sanchez’s office to get his favorite snack". 

The clue said that it is in Ms. Sanchez's office exactly like how we guessed in clue number three!

One of the other groups solved the clue five around 10 seconds before, but Ms. Tran let both of us win and get candy. We went to the office to retrieve the cow from Ms. Sanchez.

Reflection: 

S - Strength - I think my strength that I had during this project was resilience, because even when we failed I kept trying and eventually we won.

O - Opportunities - Something I could've done to improve my project is that I could have found a better way to find the last 4 numbers instead of cross checking which took too long.

U - Understanding - Something I learned through this project is how to write python code to solve the clues in the Caesar Cipher.

L - Limitations - Some of my limitations were that we didn't not have a good way to find the  last 4 numbers without guessing them and cross check

WISCR - The WISCR that represents my work is clear communicator because when i needed help on a part if my project  or if someone else needed help. I communicated clearly to get my goal finished. The second WISCR that symbolizes my work is insightful critical thinkers because I planned my project with good time management and even if my journey had a few obstacles i overcame them and finished the soap bar for Alex.
