Cork Pals: Design and create a pair of animal figurines utilizing recycled bottle corks students design on TinkerCAD and prototype using the 3D printers. the design [process consists of brainstorming, researching, CADing, 3D printing and repeating until students are happy with their final products.
I was inspired buy the animals I find cute, bunnies and pigs. First I printed a ring to the measurements of the cork so I wouldn't get the whole animal's measurements wrong. The ring takes very little time to print and lets me know how big the connecter to the animal part has to be. Then I designed the animals. When I printed the bunny, it didn't have ears. I realized I'd printed the ears so thin they didn't exist. I had to improvise and use the scribble thing to make its ears.
The story behind my pig and bunny is that they were both living on a farm and they met eachother as friends.
Strength: I was able to come up with an idea quickly.
Opportunities: I could've been more creative with my idea and design.
Understanding: This project helped me understand what I did to make my prints fail.
Limitations: I didn't have that much time to complete my project and had multiple failed prints.
This is the pig's design on TinkerCAD.
The design below is the design of the bunny.
