We are offering the following career-focused and future-ready pathways to students:
Biotechnology
Health Sciences
Technology, Engineering, and Skilled Trades (TEST)
Business
While we will have a specific sequence of electives available to students for each pathway, students can choose to take several pathways or choose no pathway at all! These pathways provide opportunities for internships and additional learning. These pathways are also responsive to the growing needs in our community and prime location within the Holly Springs Business Park.
Fine Arts: Band, Chorus, Art, Dance, Theatre
World Languages: ALL Levels of Spanish; Additional languages potentially available through NCVPS (more information on this released at a later date)
*Career and Technical Education (CTE): Forensic Science, Aquaponics, Photography in Science, Robotics, Career Management, Digital Media, Food and Nutrition, etc. (this is not an exhaustive list!)
*Please note that these are potential CTE elective offerings that are dependent on student interest and staffing. Given the limited flexibility of a 9th grade schedule, these are electives that may become available after our first year. There will be elective courses available for every type of student.
We will offer general AP courses, like AP World History, AP Precalculus, and AP United States History, just to name a few. At the current moment, in lieu of offering “higher level” AP courses, like AP Chemistry, AP Physics, and AP Psychology, among others, we’re planning to encourage students to take college courses through Career and College Promise (CCP) program at Wake Tech Community College (see below). More and more students are pursuing this route because college credit is dependent on success throughout the semester in college courses vs. performance on a single test in an AP course. We will also offer AP Capstone, which is a two-course program (AP Seminar and AP Research) that develops students’ skills in research, analysis, and communication across disciplines.
Students have the option to enroll in courses at Wake Tech to earn both high school and college credits tuition free through their Career & College Promise Program. Learn more at: https://www.waketech.edu/career-and-college-promise
An Upper School specific CCP webpage will be released at a later date.
It's important to note that the Upper School will meet all North Carolina graduation requirements as outlined by NCDPI. Students will have access to most courses at the Standard or Honors level, with select AP courses also available. Utilize the following website for more information on graduation requirements in North Carolina: https://www.dpi.nc.gov/districts-schools/high-school-graduation-requirements. Note that there are changes beginning in the '26-'27 school year, with the addition of a Computer Science requirement and Arts Education requirement.
More specific curriculum information will be released soon!
