Assessment

When students return to school in the fall, they will complete a course-dependent summer reading assessment. Details of this assessment will be communicated by individual teachers at the beginning of the school year. 

While assessments may vary by teacher, students can expect the following: 

• AP 11 and AP 12 students are required to complete the summer work assigned to them by their teacher. 

• Honors English 9-12 students are required to read two books and will be assessed on these books with a combination of projects and essays. 

• English 9-12 students either compose a short essay or create a project based on their chosen summer reading book. 

• Language Arts 9-12 students are provided with a variety of options for sharing their summer reading. These options may include a short essay or paragraph, a creative project, or a book discussion with the teacher.
