New Collaboration Table Displays

Our new whteboard tables now have a large monitor display for group collaboration and presentations.

The first use of the collaboration whiteboard display: Students draw a political cartoon on the whiteboard table and upload the picture into a digital newspaper projected on the display for a history group project about the 1920's.

Whole class whiteboard activities: Students played review games in Spanish using the whiteboard tables.

Students practice math problems during study hall.

Library Promotions and Displays

The "Golden Library Pass" promotion for October was to show off student artwork using our whiteboard tables. Teachers will vote on their favorite pictures. Click here to see some examples

We plan to start a new promotion for November using the new displays on the collaboration tables for virtual escape rooms. Solve riddles in a Google Form to complete a virtual escape room from a curated list and you can be entered to win a Golden Library Pass at the end of the month.

The "Calm Coloring Corner"continues and the posters are starting to take shape!

We are currently celebrating Native American heritage month. Look for posters for the American Indian Youth Literature Awards and browse the books by Native American and Indigenous Authors displayed at each of our tables. To browse a selection of these books, click here.

Library Clubs

The PRHS Book Club and the Makerspace Club have had their first meetings. Take a look at some of the things happening in these clubs.

Looking for a good recommendation? We have books selected by our student book club on display at some of the tables in the library.

Makerspace club has met a few times this year and created friendship bracelets and created their own buttons using Northern Tier's resources. We look forward to the Pearler Bead Pixel Art project on November 14.

Library Class Stats and Updates

The library has been continuing to grow in student walk-ins, circulation, and class visits. For the month of October alone, we had 119 class period visits, and 2372 student study hall visitors, and that doesn't account for the mornings in which we get about 50+ students before homeroom and the after-school time with Northern Tier Pine Center.

We've also had 1484 items in circulation for the month of October!

We've had a number of different classes visiting the library in Social Studies and English and even some Science Classes. We also provide space for Mrs. Dull's Child Development Preschool to check out picture books in Northern Tier's collection each week. Here is a picture of firefighters visiting the child development class earlier in the month:
