I teach at Hance and Richland Elementary Schools.
I went to Duquesne University in Pittsburgh to learn how to be a music teacher. When I was there I played piano and studied music education.
This is my 10th year as a music teacher- I have taught at Pine-Richland my whole career!
I am certified in the following music teaching methods: First Steps in Music, and Orff-Schulwerk Level 1.
When I am not teaching music at Pine-Richland you might find me working on my graduate studies, singing with my choir, playing the piano, or riding my bike.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that all children are inherently musical. My goal as a music teacher is to help my students become musical people- in music class we call this "tuneful, beatful and artful". These 3 simple words are the inspiration for our learning activities. I want my students to learn the joy of singing, moving, dancing and responding to the beauty of music. By the time they leave me I hope they have a deep appreciation and lifelong love for music!
