My Teaching Philosophy
"I believe that every individual has a capacity for musical and creative behavior, whether it be great or small. My job as a music educator is to uncover the innate musicality and bring it to fruition in each person, while also fostering a sense of community through group music-making. Music class is a place for singing, dancing, playing, reading, writing, creating, listening and making connections. Through these behaviors, children acquire the necessary skills and confidence to find their places in the culture of music and hopefully will use these skills for life in some capacity."
