Now that we have a good understanding of how our nervous system operates and how we receive and interpret sensory stimuli, it is time to turn our attention to our conscious state of being. In this part of the Unit we will investigate the importance of sleep, the effects of psychoactive drugs, and the effects of mental and physical exercises such as Yoga and Meditation.
Our first assignment in this section is to maintain a daily sleep log. Open the document below and save it to your Google Drive by making a copy. Name the copy FIRST NAME, LAST NAME, Sleep Log and share it with me. You must update your log daily.
The second assignment in this section will actually be completely concurrently with the Sleep Log. During the same two week period you will keep a personal Dream Journal. You WILL NOT turn in the actual Dream Journal. Instead, you will write a minimum one page, double spaced, paper supporting one of the three Dream Theories presented in the text. Use your own dream experiences to support your argument.

This is an in-class lesson, please be sure to bring a thick pillow to sit on during class. We will be sitting on the floor in meditation so please dress accordingly.
