Occupational Therapy

What do I do?

Occupational therapy support in school systems is a unique and rewarding position. I work with all ages, including infants all the way up to students who are in the district transition program. I support a variety of needs based on IEPs, 504 Plans, and Tier 1, 2, and 3 interventions. I consult with staff on a daily basis, but also work 1:1 with students. I support student needs related to sensory processing, handwriting, fine motor activities, task initiation and completion, and self regulation. I work with children in early intervention (birth-three) through high school.

About Me

I grew up in northern WI, went to the U of M- Twin Cities for my undergraduate studies in Child Psychology and Development. I earned my Master's Degree from St. Catherine University and have been working with children ever since (2008). I started working with Northfield Public Schools, then we moved to Pine Island. At that time I was hired by Mayo and worked in inpatient rehab with pediatrics, then most recently with Rochester Public Schools where I served as our OT department lead therapist. I joined the Pine Island Schools family in 2022. I live in Pine Island with my husband and two daughters. Go Panthers!
