The Pine Eagle School District Computer Science Department is committed to equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in an increasingly digital and technology-driven world. As technology continues to shape how we live, work, and communicate, computer science education empowers students to think critically, solve problems, collaborate, and innovate with confidence.
Our program provides students with opportunities to explore and engage in key areas such as programming, cybersecurity, networking, and emerging technologies. Through hands-on learning and real-world applications, students gain a deeper understanding of how technology works and how they can be creators—not just consumers—of digital solutions.
For high school students, participating in computer science courses at Pine Eagle offers several important benefits:
Future Career Opportunities: As technology continues to drive economic growth, students with computer science experience are well-positioned for careers in fields such as software development, cybersecurity, data science, and beyond.
Development of Critical Skills: Computer science teaches students how to break down complex problems, think logically, and develop effective solutions—skills that are valuable in any career path.
Creativity and Innovation: Students are encouraged to design and build projects such as apps, websites, and games, fostering creativity and innovative thinking.
College and Career Readiness: With many post-secondary programs expecting foundational technology skills, early exposure to computer science provides students with a strong advantage.
Digital Literacy: Understanding how technology functions helps students become informed and responsible users of digital tools while preparing them to shape the future of technology.
Located in rural Oregon, Pine Eagle School District is dedicated to expanding equitable access to high-quality computer science education.
