The following is a list of required guidelines that must be followed: 1.No running or playing around in the laboratory.2. Never play with laboratory equipment or materials.3. Always follow instructions and wait until you are told to begin before handing materials.4. Never perform unassigned experiments.5. Do not eat or taste anything in the laboratory. (This includes gum, marshmallows, chemicals,etc.)6. Do not sniff chemicals.7. Wash your hands after every experiment.8. Keep your area clean.9. Dispose of waste materials in appropriate containers.10. Do not look into or point a test tube at anyone.11. Turn off any electronically operated equipment when you have completed the lab.12. Clean and put away all equipment when you are no longer using it.13. Report all injuries or accidents to the teacher immediately.14. Report all spills or breaks to the teacher immediately. DO NOT attempt to clean up afteryourself until it has been determined as safe to do so.15. Never use broken or cracked glassware/equipment. Alert your teacher immediately.16. Always wear closed-toe shoes in the laboratory. Sandals are not appropriate.17. Tie back hair and restrict any loose clothing.18. When instructed, wear safety goggles CONTINUOUSLY until told to remove them.19. Never rub your eyes after handling chemicals.20. Listen carefully to the instructions prior to beginning the lab to learn of potential hazards,dangers, and handling procedures. I understand the crucial nature of my actions in the laboratory environment. I realize that what I do in the lab affects the safety of myself as well as my fellow classmates. Since my actions directly affect the health of others, I will do my best to adhere to the previously mentioned guidelines. I realize that if I choose to be a danger to myself and/or others, my consequence will be the loss of the privilege of taking part in the lab activity, and I will be required to complete a lab make-up assignment instead.
