Find an image that meets the requirements shown below.
Cut out your stencil with an exacto knife.
Tape your stencil to the UNDERSIDE of your silkscreen.
On the BACK of the screen, COVER THE ENTIRE SCREEN (not the stencil cutouts) with scrap paper and tape.
Check your screen by holding it up to the light. Make sure your text or image is not mirrored. What you see here is what you will get on your prints.
Place a ‘rope’ of ink above your stencil that spans the width of your stencil.
Use your squeegee at a 45 degree angle to pull the ink towards you and through the screen. You should hear a ‘zip’ of the squeegee gliding along the screen when you have the correct pressure.
Cleaning Tip #1. Do NOT allow the underside of your screen to touch the table. IT WILL TRANSFER INK TO THE TABLE THEN TO YOUR NEXT PRINT OR FABRIC!
Cleaning Tip #2. Use scrap newspaper or paper towels remove and throw away ink before going to the sink! This step will save you a lot of time cleaning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
