Understanding the TN Grading Policy
The grading scale should be familiar to students.The scale below is the current grade scale required by Tennessee Public Schools.
90-100= A
90-100= A
80-89= B
80-89= B
70-79= C
70-79= C
60- 69= D
60- 69= D
50-59= F
50-59= F
Students who have a score between 50 to 59 in the class have the option to sign up for summer school, if the option is offered by the school. Due to graduation requirements, students will be required to recover the credit that he or she did not attain during the school year. Those students who do not achieve a base score of 50 percent will have to retake the class the next school year along with the usually English credit.

For my classes, I have a coding system so parents have a better understanding of what their student's grade means; the coding system is easy to communicate how students are truly doing in my classes. I have explained this coding system to students beforehand.
Students, in my room, are provided with class time to complete most of these assignments. If class time is not provided, students have opportunities to email or message me through Remind 101 where I can clarify misconceptions. In short, students do not have a true reason to
Students are required to turn in assignments in class on time or by the end of the day to receive full credit. This rule does not apply to students who have excused absences; students with excused absences are allowed 3 days to complete assignments. I do not accept late work otherwise.

Students who receive a zero indicate that the student has plagiarized on a test, quiz, or assignment. (Students are not allowed to make up this grade.)
Students who receive one indicate that the student was present the day the assignment was completed and he/she did not turn it in. (I will provide a comment in the feedback section of the assignment to give more insight.)
