Centre for Strings, Gravitation and Cosmology (CSGC) - a research centre instituted as part of Institute of Excellence (IoE) initiative of the Government of India at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), Chennai, India is organizing a workshop titled
Challenges in unraveling astrophysical eccentric compact binaries
during Mar 1 (Sat) - Mar 4 (Tue), 2025 to bring together experts in gravitational wave astronomy, astrophysics, and theoretical physics to discuss the dynamics, detection, and modeling of eccentric compact binaries. The aim of the workshop is to foster in-depth discussions and collaborative opportunities in this exciting area of research.
The workshop will feature presentations by leading researchers, panel discussions, and breakout sessions to explore:
Future directions for observing and interpreting eccentric binary signals
Theoretical insights and simulation techniques
Recent developments in eccentric binary detection methods
