MEET THE NURSE

HELLO! My name is Nurse Holly, and I am excited to be your elementary school nurse again this year! This is my second year as the PHES nurse. My job is to take care of little ones if they have daily medications that cannot be taken at home, procedures or other health conditions that require a little extra help throughout the day. If kiddos are feeling sick, injured or just need a little encouragement during the school day I am here.

If you ever need anything don’t hesitate to stop by the nurse’s office. I’m looking forward to a happy and healthy school year together!

Hello, Pirate Parents! 🌟

Here is a great reminder for you and your little pirates about two super important things to help us stay happy, healthy, and feeling our best: bathing and handwashing! 🧼✨ Let’s dive right in!

🚿 Why Bathing is So Awesome! 🛁

Bath time isn't just for getting clean – it's your personal spa moment to relax and refresh! When you bathe, you’re washing away dirt, sweat, and all the germs that love to hang out on your skin and make us smell stinky. Plus, who doesn’t love that squeaky-clean feeling? 🧴🛁

Here are some bath time tips to make it extra fun:

Frequency: Aim for a nice, warm bath every day. If you’ve been running around outside playing, maybe even after that!
Perfect Temperature: Not too hot, not too cold—just right! 🌞
Gentle Soap: Try to pick a mild soap, because our skin is sensitive and deserves some love! 💖

🖐️ Wash Those Hands! 🧼

This is the BIG one! Washing your hands is one of the best ways to fight germs and keep those nasty colds away! There has ALREADY been multiple sicknesses going around the school!

When should we wash our hands?

Before and after meals

After using the bathroom

After blowing our nose, sneezing or coughing into your hands

Anytime hands look visibly dirty or soiled

🌟 Did You Know? 🌟

That’s right, proper handwashing can keep you from getting sick and stop germs from spreading to your friends. It's like a superhero power you carry around all day! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

So, Superstars, let’s all do our part! Remind each other to take those baths and wash our hands to keep our school sparkling clean and healthy!

PHES Health Expo 2025

The PHES Health Expo will be held Friday, October 3 from 0800-1130. This is a great opportunity to identify issues with vision or hearing that could impair learning. Student's often do not realize that they need glasses or will go without. This is the letter that will be going home with your student. It only needs to be filled out and sent back if you do not want your student participating in the health screening expo on said date.
