We are seeking participants for Summer 2024!
The Student Success Data Mini-Grant (SSDMG) is provided by the Title V Closing Achievement Gaps Grant. It is a funding opportunity to support departments and units in their efforts to improve student success outcomes through data-driven projects.
An example of an approved project would be identifying student achievement gaps between in-person and online learning for specific courses.
Faculty members will be rewarded with a $500 stipend for the successful completion of a project requiring a minimum of 15 hours of work. Staff members can receive a stipend of up to $500 based on the invested hours upon successful project completion. Hourly rates will be determined based on employee type and salary rate.
Both faculty and staff participants who receive a stipend are required to dedicate time outside of regular working hours to the project. Staff members may have the option to decline the stipend and utilize their working hours if their work/project is deemed related to their assigned job role.
All participants must receive approval from their supervisor for their participation.
To be eligible, you need to:
Receive approval from your supervisor
Submit an interest form
Attend a consulting session with Institutional Research (IR) staff to determine a data project
Present your data project by Aug 16, 2024 (the presentation format is to be determined)
Besides financial support, SSDMG participants will receive ongoing support from the IR Office and Data Champions to collect or explore existing data and conduct data analysis. Training will be provided as needed.
Don’t have a specific project in mind? That is okay! You are not required to have a specific data project idea before submitting your interest form. The IR Office is here to help you identify a project that aligns with your department/unit’s strategic planning. Collaborative projects are encouraged, and we can help facilitate connections among colleagues for joint initiatives.
