Animation & Gaming

  • 6/8 - 6/12, 8:30am - 3:00pm, Fine Arts Building

Tuition: $250/Session

Students will learn how to model, animate, and build immersive gaming environments with an introduction to fundamental game design principles. Students will use Blender and Unity to create game characters, props and environment assets to design their own game levels.

Ceramics

  • 6/8 - 6/12, 8:30am - 3:00pm, Fine Arts Building

Tuition: $250/Session

Students will learn to use a variety of surface decorating techniques including: screen printing, ceramic decals, majolica painting, and Raku glazing. Projects include a Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) inspired skull using silkscreens and painting with underglazes. Students will also decorate a handbuilt tray using Majolica glazes. Majolica is an Italian pottery painting technique dating from the Renaissance period. During the workshop students will also get to glaze and fire a ceramic form using the Raku kiln; which is a short, interactive, low-fire firing process which can yield flashy metallic colors.

Comic Book Creation

  • 6/8 - 6/12, 8:30am - 3:00pm, Fine Arts Building

Tuition: $250/Session

Students will learn the essentials for producing their own comics. Students will learn about story structure, page composition, materials and techniques, character design, environmental drawing, and comic production. Collaborate on a comic anthology that students will self-publish during the course. Learn about comics from industry professionals!

DRAWING & PAINTING

  • 6/8 - 6/12, 8:30am - 3:00pm, Fine Arts Building

Tuition: $250/Session

Students will explore contemporary drawing, painting, and printmaking techniques while creating mixed-media works of art. Students can grow their art making skills while learning about art mediums and movements that are igniting the local arts community. Each day will be filled with creative exploration that challenges students boundaries as they create a series of mixed-media projects.

Photography

  • 6/8 - 6/12, 8:30am - 3:00pm, Fine Arts Building

Tuition: $250/Session

Students will develop skills in fine arts photography, working in black and white film using traditional 35mm cameras. They will become familiar with the materials and process of the darkroom. They will learn the basics of exposure, film speed, aperture, shutter speed and depth of field. Composition and perspective are a focus of this class, students will consider the formal elements of their work and what that communicates to the viewer. Class time is spent on both photo shoots and developing photographs in the darkroom. Cyanotypes, pinhole cameras, etc. Students of varying levels of experience are welcome!

After Camp

  • 6/8 - 6/12, 3:00pm - 5:30pm, Fine Arts Building

Add-on: $100/Session

Provides students opportunities to extend times to collaborate with other students, work on creative projects, play games and complete mini-craft projects.
