The Penn Bands are proud to welcome Dakota Steele as our new Percussion Specialist!

Mr. Steele received his Master's Degree in Percussion Performance from Oklahoma City University and his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Lee University. His collegiate performance experiences include Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Steel Band, Graduate Percussion Group, Pit Orchestra, Brass Choir, and Chamber Strings. He was among a select few to perform for the Senior Honors Recital at Lee University and received the Outstanding Graduate in Music Performance award.

Mr. Steele performed with numerous marching ensembles, including Chattanooga Independent, Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps, Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps, and Music City Mystique. His teaching experience includes being the former percussion instructor for Cleveland High School in Tennessee for 5 years, and the front ensemble instructor at Putnam City West and Deer Creek High School. He has visited numerous band programs to provide instruction to young percussionists including Ocoee Middle School, Ooltewah High School, River Ridge High School, Mustang Central Middle School, and Edmond North High School.

As the Percussion Specialist for the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation, Mr. Steele will be working with percussion students grades 6-12 at Discovery Middle School, Grissom Middle School, Schmucker Middle School, and Penn High School. He will also serve an important role on the instructional staff for the Penn Marching Kingsmen. We are very excited to have him join the Penn Bands family!
