ABSTRACT:
Technology and media is everywhere nowadays, most of the children would rather use their smartphones, iPads, computers, or watch TV than to go outside and play. As Tuazon (2015) stated, among the media channels, TV seems to have the most impact on today’s youth, and violence is one of the most popular forms of entertainment. A lot of television shows being shown contain some form of violence. And because one of the youth’s mechanisms of how to learn or acquire things is through imitation, they tend to mimic the (violent) actions of the characters they see on TV, such as, punching, cursing, pushing, doing bad deeds, kicking, shouting, saying bad words, rebelling, and etc. While it is true that there are positive effects in the violent television shows, like awareness and for the adults to differentiate good and bad for the children, the negative effects are still bigger and more visible than the positive effects. Violent television content does not only affect the young adolescents physically, but it also affects them mentally and emotionally. Some of the negative effects of violent television content remains until the child grows up, thus results to aggressive and violent behavior towards his/her spouse, children and others. That’s why, while the individual is still young, he/she must already have proper guidance from the adults.
The researcher aims to find out the perception of six randomly-selected Grade 4, 5, and 6 teachers from the English department of Philippine Cultural College (Main Campus) on the effects of violent television content on the young adolescents. Using documentary analysis and interview, the researcher gathered and interpreted the data collected.

ABSTRACT:
Media has long since integrated itself into the modern world, serving vital roles in various aspects of society. Popular media, in particular, has an impact on the population due to how widespread it has become. Several actors and actresses in popular Philippine media are of mixed blood and foreign ancestry, among them, are the Chinese Filipinos. This study seeks to determine the perceptions of the audience in regard to the portrayal of Chinese Filipinos in media, as well as determine how Chinese Filipinos are being portrayed. Based on Goffman’s Framing Theory (Goffman, 1974) portrayals and representations can be framed a certain as to send implicit messages and influence the viewers. The results show that the majority of the viewers agree with the portrayals they have seen. The portrayals are accurate according to their perceptions of Chinese Filipinos.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:
Despite the longstanding relations between native Filipinos and Chinese Filipinos, the cultural differences between the two, as well as the stereotypes and generalizations made have caused their relationship to be rather strained: not outwardly hostile, but not particularly warm either. It was mentioned in an opinion column that anti-Chinese Filipino slurs were practically invisible, that is to say, few would take notice of them or acknowledge them as being offensive besides the Chinese Filipinos themselves (Tan, 2015). If media does perpetuate stereotypes and misconceptions, then identifying them would better their mutual understanding.
How are the Chinese Filipinos portrayed in Filipino films and television series?
What are the perceptions held by the audience regarding Chinese Filipinos in real life?
Does the portrayal of Chinese Filipino people in Philippine media match the true experiences of the Chinese Filipinos?

Almost all universities and colleges in the Philippines have an ROTC program, and a significant number of these students are Chinese Filipino, with this being said, the research is conducted with the purpose of uncovering and understanding the different experiences and narratives of Chinese Filipino ROTC cadets. ABSTRACT:
In the past, women were known to be submissive in nature compared to men and this has led to abuse, and gender roles were unbalanced during marriage. This research aims to understand and compare the perspectives of three generations of Chinese Filipinas on marriage to provide tips or advice for people who seeks answers. This is a qualitative-explanatory study on the ongoing changes of perspectives of Chinese Filipinas. An interview from the research employing personal questions about the respondents' perspective on marriage, that may or may not be answered, shall be the tool for garnering answers from 3 respondents (mother, daughter, grandmother). There were differences in terms of same-sex marriage, the ideal age to marry, challenges in marriage, and the definition of marriage. There were similarities in terms of the importance of marriage, being friends with their significant other, cooperation in marriage, and the stability of income in marriage. To conclude, the three generations believe that traditional cultures like courtship are practiced as it is ethical to do so.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:
General Question: How do three generations of Chinese Filipina perceive marriage?
Specific Questions:
How different are the three generations of Chinese Filipinas in their perspective towards marriage?
How are individual and generational perspectives of Chinese Filipinas on courtship and/or marriage shaped?
How did the perspectives of the three generations towards marriage change over time?

ABSTRACT:
The Binibining Pilipinas pageantry is the most prestigious pageant in the country (Sturrock, 2019). Over the course of time, pageants have become platforms for advocacies. Likewise, Binibining Pilipinas has started paying much attention to the beauty beyond beauty of the binibinis. The main goal of this study is to analyze what role the advocacies play in the journey of the candidates in the Binibining Pilipinas pageants. Moreover, the study aims to evaluate the binibinis as advocates for their respective causes. The researcher gathered the necessary data by having an interview with five Binibining Pilipinas candidates, one from each batch of Binibining Pilipinas candidates 2015 to 2019. Their responses in the interviews were interpreted by the researcher and were analyzed through content and discourse analysis. After all the data were laid out, the study found that the most advocated cause in the last five years of the pageantry was women empowerment. This is mainly because the Binibining Pilipinas pageantry celebrates women and their beauty. The study also found that advocating in Binibining Pilipinas did not just help shed light on relevant issues, but in turn, also helped the binibinis grow and learn.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:
What causes did the Binibining Pilipinas candidates from 2015-2019 choose to advocate the most?
Why were these causes chosen to be advocated the most?
How do the binibinis perceive the effects that their advocacies had on their lives through their campaigns and programs?
