Supporting Students

Thank you for your interest in supporting students' success in the Social Science class at School of the Future!

I recognize that we all have different demands on our limited time and resources. Therefore, here are a couple things that don't take much time that you can do to support your child's success in the class.

• When you can, check-in with your child about homework: Every week we have at least two homework assignments.
• When you can, check-in with your child about studying: We have a quiz or test every Friday. Remind your child to study on Thursday night.

If you have the time, here are some things you can do to support your child's learning even more.

• Browse through the Resources and Materials page - this is all the content we focus on in class.
• Try to engage in a conversation with your child about class content. I know that it's difficult to get most adolescents to talk with their parents about school. However, I believe just bringing up the conversation is really important, even if they don't respond much!
• Ask you child to tell you about the current events news article we read about in class this week. Every week we read, analyze, and discuss a new current events article.
