The Office of Educational Technology is excited to invite you to attend the Philadelphia Media and Design Competition.

The Regional Philadelphia Media and Design Student Competition is an exposition of student work (grades 3-12) from across the city of Philadelphia and is open to students in Philadelphia schools.  Participants will demonstrate their technology and design skills using digital tools, media and other technologies.  This event will be held in person at 440 North Broad Street and will bring together students and teachers as they share ideas and have a chance to highlight their work. 

Winning projects in grades 6 -12, our middle and high school divisions will represent Philadelphia as they compete against 1st place projects from IUs across the state at the PA Media and Design Competition held at Dickinson College in May.

Registration will open Monday, December 2, 2024

Registration deadline is Wednesday, March 7, 2025


Middle and high school projects must be registered in the State registration portal. 

Elementary projects are not eligible to compete at the state level. 

Please be sure to download and complete the appropriate student participation packet for all participating students.

IMPORTANT UPDATE:  The 2025 Media and Design Competition will be in person at 440 North Broad Street and aligned with the PA Media and Design Categories and Rubrics. Schools can only submit 1 project per categorySchools should host their own competition to choose who represents the school at the Philly event. See the registration page for more details.
