Drawing To Music

Musicians in grades 6-8 created artwork based on emotions they interpreted in a piece of music. This project asks students to tap into the non-verbal sensations of the music and trust their intuition to make non-verbal artistic representations of those sensations. They studied synesthesia, which is when you experience one of your senses through another.

We are off to a musical start here at PAS! It has been a joy getting to meet your musicians.

This year, students in grades 4-6 will focus on choral singing, piano, drums, and a number of musical projects focusing on creativity & music making. Musicians in grades 7-8 will work on a variety of musical projects this year, ranging from music technology to composition. We will continue our World Music Drumming curriculum for all grades as we build upon our drumming experiences from last year.
