Pennsylvania STATE BOARD LICENSE EXAM

Pennsylvania State Board License Exam

Here is the deal:

As a barbering student at Murrell Dobbins Career and Technical Education High School, you have 3 years to develop the knowledge and skills required to pass the Pennsylvania State Board of Barbering License Exam.

This means that you will become licensed barber even before you graduate high school! What do you need to do to succeed? What do you need to know?

The barber license exam consists of two main parts; a theory exam and a practical exam. The theory exam is a multiple choice exam that is administered by computer.

The practical portion of the exam is hands-on, and is administered in person at a separate testing facility. Each part of the exam is administered by a proctor, or testing administrator.

The proctor is responsible for determining how well you perform the specific tasks of the barbering license exam. You will find out if you passed or failed at the end of the exam. A score report indicating how you did on each part of the test will also be made available to you.

There are seven skill sets on the practical exam that you will be required to perform. Four of the tasks must be performed on a LIVE MODEL, or client. The rest must be performed on a mannequin. Every task on the practical exam is timed.
