Synopsis

This a collection of stories about different people who are all traveling to the Big Oakland Powwow in California and each chapter follows a different character, describing their history and explaining why they are going to the powwow. In doing so, the book explores themes of identity, belonging, and the impact of historical trauma on indigenous people.
