We are currently having a fundraiser to raise money for the water faucets. If you know one of the members of our club, contact them to donate through them, or donate by sending a check to Central High School. If you would like the address, send an email to 7666566@philasd.org.
One big way to save water is to become aware when you are wasting it. Think about when you brush your teeth, are you leaving the faucet one when it doesn't need to be on? Do you put multiple smaller loads of laundry in the wash when you could be doing one larger load? These actions can waste large amounts of water. Also, make sure to annually check that you have no leaky pipes or faucets around your house. Another way to become aware of your water usage is to learn the amount of water that is needed to make many of our valuable goods. For example, it takes 1,799 gallons of water to produce one pound of beef and it takes 34 gallons to produce a standard cup of coffee. To calculate exactly how much water you use, you can take a water usage quiz at https://www.watercalculator.org/wfc2/complete/
