From 15 to 19 December 2025, Renata Sobocka and Agnieszka Walter, together with a group of KUE students, participated in the international Winter School programme in Barcelona. The educational visit focused on developing language skills in an international academic environment.

Classes delivered in English included teamwork in international groups, conversation exercises and project-based activities, with a strong emphasis on practical language use and overcoming communication barriers. The programme supported international networking and intercultural exchange.

Participation in the Winter School was a valuable experience for both staff and students, combining language learning with practice and integration in an international academic community.

From 7 to 16 December 2025, KUE student Dominika Miroń undertook a study visit to Université Paris 8 in Saint-Denis, France, with a PROM UEK 2.0 scholarship.

The main purpose of the visit was to develop competence in human resource management in an international environment and to observe teaching processes and communication standards at a French university. The visit also included access to the university library and its resources.

Conversations with academic staff and students provided insight into the organisation of education, academic life and the functioning of the university. The mobility supported new international relationships and the exchange of experience concerning study and work across cultures.

A delegation of KUE students completed a memorable visit to the University of Camerino (UniCam) in Italy under the PROM UEK 2.0 project. During the visit, the students represented KUE and explored the academic and cultural heritage of the Marche region.

They participated in lectures and seminars, visited the School of Law and its library, and experienced UniCam’s open and welcoming academic atmosphere. The programme also included the historic centre of Camerino, the Basilica of Saint Venantius, the Diocesan Museum, the Frasassi Caves, San Vittore Abbey, the Speleo-Palaeontological Museum and the Paper and Watermark Museum in Fabriano.

Dialogue with UniCam students offered valuable insight into everyday academic life in Italy. Cultural mediation supported a deeper understanding of the Camerino community and the region. The visit strengthened the academic and cultural relationship between KUE and UniCam and created opportunities for future cooperation.

Under the PROM UEK 2.0 programme, a group of Global Business Services students—Hanna Fidor, Kaja Kęsek, Jeremi Galocz, Maria Kostecka, Adrian Lewandowski, Wiktoria Klich, Izabela Braś, Anna Kapela and Maja Dąbrowska—participated in an international hackathon in Germany.

Over several intensive days, they worked in international teams on solutions relating to business, innovation and intercultural cooperation. The event was both a project challenge and an opportunity to exchange experience, perspectives and working styles.

The hackathon strengthened teamwork under time pressure, communication in English and understanding of how cultural differences influence decision-making and problem-solving. The open atmosphere supported creativity, cooperation and international networking.

From 27 November to 1 December 2025, Natalia Chwaja and Marta Polok visited the London School of Economics and Political Science under PROM UEK 2.0 scholarships. LSE is one of the world’s leading institutions specialising in economics and the social sciences, and London is a major international financial centre.

The principal aim of the visit was to collect materials for their bachelor’s theses and deepen their knowledge of data analysis. The LSE Library provided access to extensive statistical and economic literature in multiple languages. The international environment also supported the development of language and communication skills.

From 17 to 21 November 2025, Dr Patrycja Balcer-Czarnecka of the Department of Criminal Law, KUE College of Law, and thirteen third-year law students participated in an academic visit to Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville, Spain.

During practical classes, Dr Balcer-Czarnecka delivered a presentation on the key principles of criminal procedure to Spanish and Polish law students. She also conducted library research at the university library.

Participants toured the campus and attended lectures and meetings delivered by academic staff. The visit supported new cooperation, strengthened existing contacts and provided direct insight into the local academic community.

KUE students Oliwia Czyczyn-Egiert, Natalia Dudek, Martyna Bluj, Oliwia Dąbek, Martyna Dusik, Julia Cholewa, Amelia Cąber, Klaudia Kapinos, Natalia Rojek, Julia Klimczyk, Karolina Kania, Katarzyna Korpacka and Natalia Habas visited Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville under the PROM UEK 2.0 programme.

From 17 to 21 November, they attended classes in Business Management Processes, European Union Law and Roman Law, as well as a lecture by Dr Balcer-Czarnecka on criminal procedure.

The principal objective was to compare the Spanish and Polish legal systems and deepen knowledge of Roman law. The programme included discussions with Spanish lecturers, a campus and library tour, visits to key sites in Seville and an excursion to Córdoba. The mobility provided cultural insight, inspiration and international contacts for future initiatives.

From 24 to 28 November 2025, KUE students Adrian Migacz, Maciej Telesz, Mikołaj Opiola and Patryk Musioł participated in the Fulda International Autumn School 2025 at Fulda University of Applied Sciences.

The programme examined the role of applied social sciences in addressing contemporary challenges. It combined lectures, plenary sessions and workshops delivered by international experts, allowing participants to exchange views and explore different approaches to global problems and research.

Working in international teams and using English throughout the programme strengthened both research and social competence. The workshop series “Bringing Your Research to Applied Settings” was especially valuable in supporting the students’ diploma projects and translating research ideas into practical contexts.

From 8 to 27 November 2025, KUE Doctoral School student Celestyna Miłoś undertook a PROM UEK 2.0 scholarship visit to Stanford University in California.

The main objective was to analyse the American education system, with particular emphasis on entrepreneurship education. Access to the resources of Stanford Graduate School of Education enabled the collection of reports, analyses and case studies that can support the development of good practices for the Polish education system.

The visit also provided exposure to one of the world’s most innovative academic environments and to leading approaches in teaching, educational leadership and systemic reform.

From 22 September to 1 October 2025, KUE doctoral student Justyna Chyla completed a ten-day study visit to Universidad Católica de Pereira in Colombia.

She delivered a lecture on employee engagement, moderated a seminar discussion on teal organisations, presented her research plan to a university research group and delivered a webinar on employee engagement in teal organisations.

The meetings explored self-organisation in the context of cultural differences, including the challenges and opportunities associated with implementation. Examples of Polish organisations using teal approaches generated particular interest. The visit also enabled the promotion of KUE and Polish culture and provided valuable international academic experience.

From 15 to 24 September 2025, KUE doctoral student Magdalena Kotowicz undertook a study visit to the University of Canberra under the PROM UEK 2.0 programme.

The aim was to strengthen research competence in information systems and electronic document workflows and to develop international academic cooperation. During the visit, she participated in consultations with researchers and specialists in information systems, digital transformation and public-sector IT projects.

She also delivered a presentation on her research to university experts, creating an opportunity to exchange knowledge and perspectives on process digitisation and electronic records management.

From 29 August to 15 September 2025, KUE doctoral student Karol Fundament undertook a PROM UEK 2.0 scholarship visit to Kyoto University.

As Japan’s second-oldest university, Kyoto University has a distinguished academic reputation and extensive research collections developed throughout its long history. The visit provided access to high-quality academic resources and an internationally recognised research environment.

From 1 to 5 September 2025, KUE doctoral student Mikołaj Salawa participated in the “Public Policy and Management” Summer School organised by Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).

The programme provided in-depth knowledge of public-sector issues and developed analytical skills for further research. A major component concerned the use of academic databases and AI-assisted techniques for reviewing, organising and synthesising literature.

Lectures were combined with interactive workshops in which participants worked on their own research projects. The international group of experts and researchers created a valuable environment for discussion, networking and the exchange of experience across academia and public administration.

At the end of August 2025, the first International Conference on Applied Economics and Financial Issues was held at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. KUE doctoral student Agata Gumieniak participated under the PROM UEK 2.0 programme.

The conference provided a platform for presenting research, participating in academic discussion and establishing international contacts. Her participation strengthened the international visibility of her research and provided valuable feedback and networking opportunities.

Thanks to the PROM program, I participated in the Forest Therapy Summer School organized by Forest Therapy Hub in Barcelona from July 6-13, 2025. FTHub Summer School Barcelona 2025 | Forest Therapy Practitioner

The goal was, on the one hand, to acquire and deepen my knowledge and skills in forest bathing and forest therapy, design group sessions in nature, and create action plans to enhance well-being based on contact with nature. The trip allowed me to enrich my practical work with people and inspire activities that connect me with nature.

On the other hand, it was also an opportunity to meet practitioners and scientists from around the world. The speakers at the Summer School were: - Alex Gesse – Managing Director of FTHub - Dr. Won Sop Shin – Professor of Forestry, Chungbuk National University, Korea - Dr. Kirsten McEwan – Researcher at the Center for Health and Social Welfare Research at the University of Derby - Dr. Jill Litt – Professor of Environmental Health in the Environmental Studies Program at the University of Colorado - Xavier Roget – Forestry Engineer, Tourism and Culture Advisor at the Diputació de Barcelona Parks Network (Spain) - Dr. Nevin J. Harper – Professor at the School of Physical and Health Sciences, University of Victoria.

As part of PROM UEK 2.0, KUE doctoral student Łukasz Spendel visited EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan. The World Expo is one of the largest and most prestigious international events, bringing together economic, cultural and tourism-related themes.

The purpose of the visit was to develop a case study of the Polish Pavilion as an instrument of national promotion.

From 8 to 25 July 2025, Dr Małgorzata Ćwiek of the Department of Statistics conducted library research at the British Library in London.

The British Library is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious libraries, with more than 170 million items, including books, journals, manuscripts, maps, patents, sound recordings and drawings. Its collections grow by more than three million items annually.

The visit provided access to unique sources and specialist databases relevant to further academic work and international research cooperation.

From 5 to 14 July 2025, Associate Professor Adriana Paliwoda-Matiolańska completed a research stay at Tokyo Metropolitan University in cooperation with Professor Atsuho Nakayama’s team.

The main objective was to deepen competence in advanced data analysis and artificial intelligence, particularly its application in marketing communication research. The stay strengthened skills for working in an international environment and further developed an existing research partnership.

The first day of Arkadiusz Tomaszek’s stay at Vietnam National University, University of Economics and Business in Hanoi included meetings with teaching and research staff, a campus tour and discussions on research cooperation.

He was invited to deliver a guest lecture to economics students about his doctoral research, KUE and Poland. The lecture was followed by discussion and networking. He also visited the Development and Policies Research Center (DEPOCEN), where he met senior researchers and discussed potential future projects and publications.

From 30 June to 6 July 2025, Human Resource Management students Wiktoria Kunc and Oliwia Pyta participated in “The New Space Economy” Summer School in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

The course covered legal aspects of space exploration, space history and lunar geography. The students delivered presentations entitled “Gender Equality in Space” and “Mars: The Planet of Rovers”.

The programme combined lectures, participant presentations, virtual reality and lunar observation. It concluded with a group report on the colonisation of the Moon.

From 17 to 28 June 2025, KUE Doctoral School student Magdalena Wawoczny conducted library research at the New York Public Library, focusing primarily on the Dorot Jewish Division at the Fifth Avenue building.

The purpose was to collect source materials for a doctoral dissertation on risk perception in consumer behaviour, with particular emphasis on the influence of Israeli national culture. The visit also broadened the researcher’s understanding of the economic and social dimensions of consumer decisions and generated sources and ideas for future projects in economic and social history.

From 16 to 20 June 2025, Dr Klaudia Blachnicka participated in the International Week organised by the University of Foggia in Italy. The event focused on global cooperation and the development of intercultural partnerships.

The programme supported the exchange of good practices, international networking and discussion of future academic cooperation.

From 28 to 31 May 2025, Dr Justyna Pawlak participated in the international Business & Entrepreneurial Economics Conference 2025, where she presented the paper “Quiet Quitting and Work Engagement: Understanding Key Factors in Remote and Hybrid Working Models”.

The event brought together researchers and practitioners from around the world and created a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience.

From 9 to 11 April 2025, KUE doctoral student Konrad Smoleń participated in the WTM Africa tourism trade fair in Cape Town.

He met representatives of tourism enterprises and organisations and conducted research, including recorded unstructured interviews. The study generated information on current tourism trends and the design of tourism offerings, with particular attention to whether providers observe increased customer demand for memorable and emotional experiences.

The findings will support the doctoral dissertation and are intended for publication in an academic journal.

In April 2025, members of the Student Research Group for Packaging and Logistics Processes participated in a short-term academic exchange at Vilniaus Kolegija, one of Lithuania’s leading universities of applied sciences.

The mobility aimed to deepen international cooperation and develop research competence. It also facilitated the exchange of teaching experience and approaches to curriculum design, which may enrich the Accounting and Controlling programme at KUE.

Participation in classes delivered by Portuguese lecturers enabled KUE students to learn about different teaching methods and approaches to organising degree programmes. Comparing the Portuguese education system with Polish higher education was particularly valuable.

The international environment and foreign-language classes also strengthened communication and language skills. The visit demonstrated the diversity of European higher education systems and the value of inter-university exchange.

From 26 March to 6 April 2025, Dr Piotr Andrzej Głogowski of the Department of Political Studies undertook an academic visit to Japan.

The primary objectives were to interview former Japanese ambassadors to Warsaw, visit the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and establish academic contacts. The planned research programme was completed successfully, and its findings will support an article and later a book on Polish–Japanese relations in the 1990s.

The visit also included the University of Tokyo and Tokyo University of Science, together with their libraries, and enabled the acquisition of Japanese-language literature and participation in an expert debate organised by the Warsaw Institute.

On 4 March 2025, Dr Agnieszka Małkowska of the Department of Real Estate Economics and Investment Process began a research visit to the Library of the London School of Economics and Political Science.

The LSE Library is one of the world’s largest collections in the social sciences, particularly economics and political science. Founded in 1896, it serves both as the university library and as a national research library.

Through PROM UEK 2.0, Dr Małkowska was able to access a substantial part of the collection for work on a postdoctoral monograph and academic articles. The visit also provided insight into best practices in supporting teaching and research.
