BINGO!!!! PHCSE families enjoyed games and activities together during Title 1 Family Game Night. The evening was full of activities that began with Mrs. Allen-Thomas reading a story to our younger scholars. Everyone enjoyed playing Bingo together and received a book for winning. Parents helped their scholars with literacy and math activities. The evening ended with students measuring their own trail mix to take home and enjoy with their literacy and math activities. Thanks to all those families that joined us!

"A Wrinkle in Time" Family Movie Night was a success! Thank you to all of the PHCSE families who attended. Each ticket included a drink, popcorn, and movie entry. Profit from this event went towards SGA Dance.

We had another great Scholastic Book Fair and Reading Night! We sold over $3,000 in books! All Scholastic Dollars earned go directly back into classrooms. Each Homeroom will receive the Scholastic News each month as well as online access to other learning materials.

Please send in your Box Tops that you've been saving all year! We will be gathering these up over the next month and sending them in.

A couple of weeks ago, Mrs. Schraven and an 8th grade student were shown how to collect maple from many of the trees that are here on the school property. Matthew Zuk assisted in drilling and attaching the collection bucket to the maple trees. Unfortunately, much of the maple season has already happened. The ideal time to tap into the tree would be winter. (Something we are excited to try next year!) During the drilling process, they learned how to break the bark away from the tree and drill deep enough to penetrate to the layer of the tree that allows sap to flow. A week or so later the maple water was collected!
