Training course will focused on the guidelines used for acceptable practices of testing. Additional topics will include the principles of cross-connection control, methods and devices used to prevent backflow of undesirable substances into water distribution and plumbing systems carrying potable water.
A minimum of five (5) years of documented practical experience in the installation or service of plumbing, mechanical, fire protection, lawn irrigation or a related industry field.
Successful completion of a minimum 40-hour training course on backflow assembly testing covering all aspects of ASSE 5110.
Successfully passing a 100-question exam with a score of 70% or higher.
Successfully passing a practical exam that includes testing ASSE 1013, 1015, 1020 and 1056 assemblies.
Certification shall be for a three (3) year period.
Training course will include the basics of cross-connection control surveying, safety, product performance, conducting a survey, terminology, and relative federal, state and local regulations and codes.
Successful completion of an ASSE 5110 Tester class or approved equal is a prerequisite for the course.
Successful completion of a 20-hour training course.
Successful completion of a 50-question exam with a score of 70% or higher.
Training course will include the basics of backflow prevention assembly troubleshooting and repair.
Successful completion of an ASSE 5110 Tester class or approved equal is a prerequisite for the course.
